Join us for another morning of American Mahjong and community at Bakery Square!
Whether you're coming with friends or flying solo, pull up a chair and enjoy a few rounds with fellow Pittsburgh mahjong players. Yinz Mahj Open Play is designed for players who already know the basics of American Mahjong and are looking for a fun, welcoming place to play.
Open Play Details
Open Play begins at 10:00 AM and runs until 12:00 PM.
This event is intended for players who already know how to play American Mahjong. There will be no instruction.
Please bring your own 2026 National Mah Jongg League card.
Tiles, racks, mats, and game supplies will be provided.
Players of all experience levels are welcome, from newer players who have completed a beginner class to seasoned players.
New This Month: Second Wind
Beginning at 9:00 AM, we're piloting Second Wind, a marketplace for pre-loved mahjong treasures.
Browse, buy, sell, or swap gently used mahjong items before Open Play begins. You never know what might turn up—a tile set you've been eyeing, a mat looking for a new home, extra racks, bags, books, accessories, and more. This is optional...if you do not want to buy, sell or swap, you can come for open play at our regular 10AM start.
Interested in Participating in Second Wind?
Participants are welcome to bring gently used mahjong items to buy, sell, or trade.
A few guidelines:
Please clearly label all items with your name and asking price (if selling).
Sellers are responsible for all transactions and collecting payment directly from buyers. We recommend that you use Venmo.
Yinz Mahj and Bakery Square are providing the space but is not acting as a reseller, broker, or appraiser.
All sales and trades are between participants.
Please bring only mahjong-related items.
Space is limited, so please be considerate when setting up your items.
